皆さんこんばんは。
今日は水を表す言葉を紹介します。 Good evening. Today I will introduce words that describe water. 氷 こおり ice 水 みず water (usually cold) ぬるま湯 ぬるまゆ lukewarm water お湯 おゆ hot water (doesn't have to be boiling) 熱湯 ねっとう very hot water (close to boiling or boiling) 水蒸気 すいじょうき water vapor 湯気 ゆげ visible water vapor, steam 結露 けつろ condensation 日本語学習者の中には、お湯は100度のお湯だと思っている人がいるようです。 冬に車の窓が凍ったときどうするか、という話をしたとき 私が「窓ガラスにお湯をかけます」と言ったら 生徒は「ガラスにお湯は大丈夫ですか?!」と驚いていました。 私の意見では、お湯はお風呂の温度以上であればお湯と言っていいと思います。 それよりも低く、あたたかく感じる程度なら、ぬるま湯となります。 Some Japanese language learners think that お湯 is boiling water. When I talked about what I do when the car windshield is frozen, I said that I pour お湯. She was surprised and asked me "is hot water okay for glass?" She thought I pour boiling water. (I explained to her later) In my opinion, お湯 is as hot as bath water or hotter. If water is warm and less hot than bath water, it is called

Good evening. There are only 5 days until the only JLPT in 2020. My students have been trying to find spare time to study for the test every day. About 10 days ago, I held a mock test event, renting a room at a community center. I limited the number of people to prevent the COVID-19 infection spread. Some had a good result, some didn't. The result of the test made them recognize which section they should focus on in the last two weeks before the test. One of the students who took the mock test had a score which was far from the passing level. However, he not gets over 60 % of accuracy in kanji, vocabulary and grammar sections of a drill exercise book! The result showed us that people can make a big improvement in a short time. I hope that you utilize the remaining days to study as much as possible so that you don't regret after the test not having studied enough.
Hi everyone. I guess you are studying today if you are planning to take the JLPT next month. Some of the applicants may take the JLPT only to see their current Japanese skills, not necessarily to pass the exam this time. However, most of you will take the exam to pass. I have taken many language-related exams myself, as I love languages and language skills required were different depending on the time. I once worked full-time, taught private Japanese lessons after work and studied for exams on weekdays and weekends. Sometimes I went to a cafe to study on weekends. My motivation to study for exams is to picture myself after passing an exam. Of course, it makes me very happy to pass an exam, but I am excited more when I think about how I could make the most of the skills. Me teaching Japanese in better ways, me helping people with communication by translation and interpretation, me as an English tour guide, me talking about things more deeply in foreign languages... I simply like myself being able to do more things. Questions in the JLPT are not raw conversations with real people. The text is not what was written specially for you. The exam exercises may not feel real to you. If you think this way: "These will help me in the future." maybe you can be more positive about studying for the exam. The new application period for JLPT 2020 winter(December 6th) will start tomorrow.

Good evening! 去年夏に食べるといい食品を紹介しましたが、 今年も夏に食べるといい野菜を2つ紹介します。 Last year I introduced some food for summer. Today I'll introduce two more vegetables. It's called "the King of vegetables" as it has a lot of nutrition. Rich in vitamins. When you cut it, slimy juice comes out from the cut surface. It is good for a stomach which lost the internal barrier. Jew's mallow contains a lot of calcium (9 times as much as spinach has). If you want to take the calcium effectively, eat it with food that has vitamin D, for example mushrooms. It's also good to make soup with finely chopped jew's mallow. Note: Do not cut it before boiling because nutrition would come out. Boil first, then cut if you do not use the water for boiling afterwards. 茗荷 みょうが Japanese ginger 日本で千年以上前から食べられている記録がある野菜。 しょうがのような香りと味を持っているが、しょうがのような辛みは少ない。 その香りのアルファピネンという成分が食欲増進や消化促進の効果をもたらす。 生で食べると一番おいしく食べられるので、刻んでそうめんや豆腐の上に乗せて食べたり、味噌汁に食べる直前に乗せるといい。 A vegetable eaten in Japan since more than a thousand years ago. Its smell and taste are a little similar to ginger, but it's not as spicy as ginger. The component of the smell is called alpha pinene, which promotes appetite and digestion. It is good to be eaten raw, so I recommend that you chop or slice it and put on soumen noodles or tofu, or put on miso soup just before you eat it. 皆さんこんにちは。毎日暑いですね。
私は毎日1~2杯コーヒーを飲みますが、夏の間はアイスコーヒーを飲むのが好きです。 Good afternoon. It's hot everyday. I drink coffee once or twice a day and during summer I like drinking iced coffee. さて、日本では、暑い日を表す言葉があります。 天気予報やニュースでも使われます。 Anyway, there are a couple of terms to describe summer days. These are used in weather forecast and news. その日の最高気温が If the highest temperature of the day is: 25度以上の日・・・・夏日(なつび) 25 degrees or higher Natsubi 30度以上の日・・・・真夏日(まなつび) 30 degrees or higher Manatsubi Manatsu means mid summer 35度以上の日・・・・猛暑日(もうしょび) 35 degrees or higher Moushobi Mousho means extremely hot weather 熱帯夜(ねったいや)という言葉もあります。 これは夜になっても25度以下にならない夜を指します。 There is also "Nettaiya," which means a night the lowest temperature of which is above 25 degrees. これからは猛暑日もありそうです。 皆さん外出の際は熱中症対策を忘れずに! There seem to be Moushobi this week on. Do not forget to take heat stroke/exhaustion measures!
