(English below)
If you are at upper-intermediate level in Japanese langauge and start to make complex sentences, one of the things you want to pay attention to is twists of sentence structure. What is "twists of sentence structure"? For example, 1. a verb is not in appropriate form for its subject 2. A verb or an adjective takes place of a spot when the spot is for a noun Here are example sentences. Ex.1 私は先生に頼んで日本語を直しました。 The writer wants to say "I asked my teacher and had him correct my Japanese." The person who "corrected is not 私 but 先生, so the verb has to be 直してもらいました (receiver of benefit) Ex. 2 私の休日の過ごし方は、ドラマを見たり友達とカフェに行ったりします。 The writer wants to say "The way I spend my day off is to watch a series, go to a cafe with a friend etc." The subject is "過ごし方 the way to spend" and the second half has to end in ~こと, the word to make a verb like a noun. The correct sentence would be 私の休日の過ごし方は、ドラマを見たり友達とカフェに行ったりすることです。 Ex. 3 昨日来なかったのはバスが遅れたんです。 The writer means "The reason why I did not come yesterday is that the bus was late." In Japanese when you use ~のは to explain a reason you have to end with ・・・からです. The correct sentence would be 昨日来なかったのはバスが遅れたからです。 In Japanese sentence, a subject and its action or a status are often far from each other. Who takes the action? In what form does the verb have to be? Does the verb have to be nominalized with こと? When you make a long sentence, pay attention to the end of it.
