I (English below)
I guess many people are on trip or have gone somewhere for this three-day-long weekend? The day after tomorrow, September 24th is "juugoya", or the day when you can see "Chu-shu no Meigetsu". What are those? Juugoya is the day (actually evening) when we thank for the harvest. August fifteenth is from the luni-solar calendar and it hits "current" September and October. Chushu means the middle of August (this is also based on the luni-solar calendar), and meigetsu means a beautiful moon. The day when we can see a fullmoon is different every year. This year it's September 24th. On the day, we do offering of harvest and rice cake, then enjoy fullmoon watching. Isn't it romantic to enjoy watching the moon? I was raised in the countryside. When I was a kid, we kids got together with our parents at a community center, were given snacks prepared by adults, and enjoyed traditional games. I didn't really care about the moon back then, I was only a little excited to see friends in the late evening, haha. I wonder if there are communities that hold this kind of events on juugoya? I myself will buy some rice cake and eat it on juugoya. In Japan, it is said that we can see rabbits pounding mochi (rice cake). What do they say can be seen on the moon in your home country?
