It has been cool enough to keep the air conditioner off for the whole day!
I wanted to save cooking time today, so I bought fried chicken and this (the photo is above) It's named "Chikuwa sarada". Chikuwa, or fish cake with a hole is stuffed with potato salad and fried in tempura coating. It was invented by a well-known bento chain "Obentou no Hirai" decades ago. You may think it is weird to eat chikuwa and potato salad together, but they actually go well! Good for a meal, snack and it goes well with beer, too! I heard that it tastes good with a little of soy sauce, too. The price is only 150 yen or so for each. It's cheap, isn't it? Today chikuwa sarada is sold not only in Hirai but at many super markets' deli sections.
