Handwriting differs depending on the writer, of course, but beautiful handwriting can be a reason to like the writer by itself. Unlike Roman and other countries' alphabets, Japanese language has hiragana, katakana and thousands of kanji characters, some of which are similar enough to confuse readers if the writer wrote carelessly. In my opinion, beautiful handwriting is not necessarily writing which is almost exactly the same as printed Japanese on books, but one which expresses its writer's personality and yet is written by the rules of Japanese character writing. For example, "tome (stop)", "hane(upward)" and "harai(sweep)" are the three major rules on writing Japanese. Also, you need to write as if you fit each letter in a square with a good balance of strokes. In Japanese elementary schools kids practice writing (specially kanji characters) on specially made notebooks. I recommend that you use this notebook, too.

Hi everyone. I've been in my husband's home in Europe. After a whole day trip, I was so exhausted, but today I'm having a relaxing time at home. This is holiday for me, but I have some Skype lessons (what a convenient world) so it's not totally holiday. I like my work and I feel well working a little evening when I have free days, though. Unlike our hot Kumamoto, it's only 28 degrees here! The wind is really nice and I like to spend time in the balcony. I would sweat in 10 minutes in Kumamoto if I were outside! It's summer, when a lot of people go travel. Watch out the heat and your health, and I hope you enjoy yourself. I'll update my blog about once in two days here, too. メール用語を知っていますか。
